Protocol against sexual harrassment

The Faculty of Law at UAB reaffirms its commitment to equality, respect, and the dignity of all members of the university community. In accordance with the UAB Code of Ethics and the University’s Equality Plans, this protocol establishes measures for the prevention and response to situations of sexual harassment, harassment based on sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression, as well as to any form of gender-based violence and discrimination.

This document defines the Faculty’s values and objectives: to ensure a safe and inclusive environment, to make clear that such behaviours are unacceptable, and to provide support and reporting mechanisms for both staff and students. The protocol applies to the entire university community (students, teaching and research staff, and administrative and service staff) and establishes principles of individual responsibility, confidentiality, and protection from retaliation. It also outlines the role of specialized UAB services —such as the Equality and Diversity Service, the Security Service, and the Health Assistance Service (SAS)— in attending to and supporting affected individuals.

Through this instrument, the Faculty of Law seeks to promote a culture of inclusion, free from violence and discrimination, where all members can develop under conditions of equality and respect.
