Labour Regulations and Workers’ Rights
This research area examines the legal framework governing employment relations, both individual and collective, at Spanish and supranational levels. Given the constantly evolving nature of labour law, particular attention is paid to regulatory developments while continuing to explore a number of well-established areas of research.
These include:
- Employee representation and trade union structures within companies, with particular attention to the impact of new forms of business organisation - such as outsourcing, productive decentralisation and networked companies - on the establishment and functions of employee representative bodies.
- The legal framework governing the employment of persons with disabilities and people experiencing or at risk of social exclusion.
- The impact of demographic change on employment and social protection systems, with particular attention to the labour law and social security provisions affecting older workers.
- The legal implications of emerging forms of work, including locally delivered platform work and online microtask platforms, with particular attention to collective labour rights.
- The analysis and monitoring of internal labour flexibility mechanisms.
