Founders

Fausto Miguélez was Professor of Sociology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and one of the founding members of its Department of Sociology.

He was one of the driving forces behind the Centre d’Estudis Sociològics sobre la Vida Quotidiana i el Treball (QUIT) - Sociological Research Centre on Everyday Life and Work and the Institute for Labour Studies (IET), which he directed until his retirement.

A leading figure in the Sociology of Work, his legacy lives on through his extensive body of books, academic articles and contributions to the field.

Francesc Pérez Amorós is Emeritus Professor of Labour and Social Security Law at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and holds an honorary doctorate from Universidad Paulo Freire (Nicaragua).

He was one of the driving forces behind the creation of the Institute for Labour Studies (IET) and served as a member of its Standing Committee until his retirement. Throughout his academic career, he has made significant contributions to the field of labour and employment law, with a particularly strong impact in Latin America.
