Gender Equality Representative

Since the beginning of 2023, and in accordance with the UAB’s Fourth Gender Equality Action Plan, the IET has appointed an Equality Representative responsible for equality policies within the research centre. This person oversees and monitors the implementation of the measures set out in the action plans for which research centres are responsible.

The research centre’s Equality Representative acts as the liaison between the UAB Observatory for Equality and the research centre’s Management Team.

The Equality Representative is also the designated contact person for issues related to gender-based violence and LGBTI-phobia. In this area, their responsibilities include providing an initial point of contact — offering information on available resources and procedures — for people who have experienced or are experiencing sexual harassment, harassment on the grounds of sex, gender or sexual orientation, gender-based violence at the University, or any other form of discrimination. Where necessary, the Equality Representative may also accompany the person concerned to the Observatory for Equality.
