UAB's Social Action
We want to improve the situation of groups who are at risk of social exclusion through values and by volunteering. We work for education and for equal opportunities for children and teenagers that find themselves in a disadvantaged situation in their education, many of whom belong to newly arrived families.
We work for the social rehabilitation of inmates of prisons and juvenile re-education centres. We work for children in hospital and seniors in care and nursing homes, to make their stay more bearable. And we work for the social advancement of immigrants.
These initiatives rely on the values and the active engagement of the volunteers and on working in coordination with the staff (teachers, healthcare professionals, etc.) at the centres where the actions are implemented. The ultimate goal is to help improve the quality of life of these groups, ensure equal opportunities in access to education and familiarise young students with new social contexts.
