Starting in the 2022/23 academic year, and after a tow-year break due to the pandemic, the UAB's cultural programme "Viu la Cultura" will offer members of the university community cultural activities which can be validated for 2 ECTS credits.

This 2022/23 academic year, the Viu la Cultura activity will be offered once again and included within the educational offer of Cultura en Viu artistic courses and workshops. This activity was suspended during the two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic and restrictions, which conditioned all of the artistic programmes offered on campus.

The Viu la Cultura - cultural card programme offers the possibility of enjoying professional and amateur dance, music and theatre performances at the UAB Theatre Hall, as well as one-time projections and cycles programmed at the Cinema Hall, while earning 2 ECTS credits. This can be done with the card each person recieves when signing up for the programme,  by showing it at 16 different events: 8 at the Cinema Hall and 8 at theTheatre Hall during the entire academic year, and writing a review on one of them.

In the past few years, the number of students signed up for these activities grew as they became more and more popular. The last time they were offered, in the 2019/20 academic year, 54 UAB students had signed up at the beginning of the year. Later, during the confinement, the number of people registered rose to 45 more students, given that the proposal focused on visualising concerts, theatre plays and dance performances recorded from previous years.

This programme was created to broaden the cultural baggage of students with different types of artistic proposals, as well as foster their critical analysis of these events and the cultural programme in general. Students must pay a registration fee of €5 for a year full of activities and all activities can be consulted on the UAB Agenda.
