On May 21, the students of the Pre-established programme enjoyed a visit to the Old Damm Factory, in Barcelona, within the framework of external academic activities of the International Marketing Strategies subject, taught by professor Myriam Hikimura.

The group had the opportunity to discover the origins of the well-known brewery, dating back 145 years. Throughout the tour, the students visited the different rooms of the building, such as the emblematic boiler room, the engine room or the historical archive, among other spaces, which allowed them to know how Damm beer was made in its beginnings and the history of the old factory. In addition, they learned about current and old production methods, as well as the company's internationalization strategy. Finally, they were able to enjoy a beer tasting accompanied by an expert.

In operation since 1905, the old Damm factory no longer produces beer, but the permanent exhibition inside keeps its memory alive. It still has machinery, advertising and packaging that explain the history of this brand, founded in 1876.

International Marketing Strategies

The subject provides a global vision of the variables that are addressed in international markets (cultures, economic systems, financial markets, governments, legal systems, etc.) and reviews the elements of the global marketing strategy (product, price, distribution, promotion, etc.) and its application. Its goal is to improve the student's skills in the development and application of marketing strategies and decision-making in the international context.
