The state of alarm decreed by the Spanish government was lifted on Monday 22 June and since then the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona has begun to work towards being fully operative at the beginning of the 2020/21 academic year.

The activities and services already being offered during the previous deconfinement phases now include a few new aspects:

  • Free access to all buildings. There is no need to request authorisation before entering campus buildings
  • Academic administration offices are open by appointment, and will cater to the needs of each centre.

All those returning to their workplaces must present a declaration of responsibility. In the case of these workers, the UAB guarantees that all prevention and safety measures are being taken in accordance with the UAB's Safety and Health Committee plan. It is very important for everyone on campus to follow instructions on personal hygiene and social distancing measures.

Regarding the 2020/21 academic year, the UAB has decided to start the year with a teaching modality that includes as many face-to-face lectures as circumstances allow, while another part of the teaching will be organized online for all subjects that cannot be done on campus.

The UAB's caretaker government and groups of directors from each of the teaching centres are working jointly to plan the 2020/21 academic year, both in terms of lectures and logistical, prevention and support measures needed to begin the year as normally as possible, within the limits set down by the health and governmental authorities. Starting on 22 June, the University will begin to work with social agents on the drafting of a work protocol for the month of July.
