Sean Golden to speak on the impact of China's emergence

Sean Golden received his PhD in Theory of Literature at University of Connecticut. He is lecturer of East Asian Studies at UAB's Faculty of Translation and Interpretation. He is former Dean of the Faculty and Director of the Institute of International & Intercultural Studies; Director of the Asian Programme of CIDOB Foundation; member of the Casa Àsia assessment board and of the Board of Directors of Venice International University; and Director of the Asian Seminar of the Menéndez Pelayo International University Consortium in Barcelona (CUIMPB).
Golden is creator of the MELIN: Minority European Languages Information Network, a Multilingual Information Society (MLIS) programme by the 22nd General Direction of the European Commission (1998-1999). He was in charge of the editing and translating of classical Chinese works Sunzi bingfa (Institució de les Lletres Catalanes, 1993-1994) and Laozi Daodejing (Institució de les Lletres Catalanes, 1996-1997). Some of Sean Golden's works include El perfil sociolingüístico de la comunidad de habla china en Cataluña (Institut de Sociolingüística Catalana, 1994-1995) and Multilateralismo versus unilateralismo en Asia: el peso internacional de los "valores asiáticos" (2003).
