International Welcome Days (IWD) for international students coming for the second semester started today, 4 February, and will end on Saturday 9 February.  The aim of these welcome days is for students to become familiar with the campus, its services and societies as well as for them to get to know other students, both local and international.

The IWD started today at 12 a.m. in Plaça Cívica, where UAB mentors met their international mentees. Once together, they enjoyed the Societies Fair and UAB’s services. The fair, which counted on the presence of 12 societies registered in elDirectori, allowed students to come into contact with the societies and services that they can find in UAB.

Students attended a welcome session in Sala de Cinema at 1 p.m. The presentation was in the charge of Sara Moreno, Vice-Rector for Students and Employability, Maria Teresa Paramio, International Relations’ Vice-Rector assistant, Fiona Kelso, professor and Language Service technical stuff.

During the following days, students will be able to attend workshops and talks and to participate in plenty of activities. Our weekly Tandem sessions will begin on Wednesday; an International Lunch will take place on Thursday in front of Centre de Recursos per a Col·lectius. Finally, on Saturday they are invited to attend a guided tour through Barcelona with a picnic in Ciutadella.
