Bus Alícia will be stationed on 10, 11 and 12 April at the campus' northern axis, near the Humanities Library, and on 13 April will be near the hotel at Vila Universitària, where it will offer specific workshops for students of the UAB School of Tourism and Hotel Management (EUTDH). The bus will be open from 10:30 am to 2 pm and from 3 pm to 7:30 pm. Workshops will be limited to 15 persons at a time. Those interested can sign up by sending an e-mail to the following address: taparicio@alegria-activity.com or by telephone at 902 109 350.
Through games and interactive audiovisual material, visitors will learn about four different sectors: products, ingredients, food and nutrition. There also will be eight practical workshop sessions lasting from 45 to 60 minutes and directed by nutritionists, specialised instructors, food technologists, and expert chefs collaborating with the foundation. Thanks to a fully equipped kitchen, visitors will learn to create meals with leftover foods and prepare quick and balanced meals.
Bus Alícia will be travelling throughout Catalonia this 2012. Following the UAB campus, the bus will be visiting Mollet del Vallès from 17 to 21 April, and then the cities of Martorell, Ripollet, Sant Cugat, Cerdanyola and Terrassa.
Fundació Alícia was founded in 2003 by Ferran Adrià in collaboration with the famous cardiologist Valentí Fuster. At their laboratories in Món Sant Benet in Sant Fruitós del Bages, experts carry out applied research into gastronomy, promotion of healthy eating habits and valorisation of Catalonia's gastronomic heritage.
