This workshop was organized by CORE of Mental Health and the Faculty of Psicolog. Several professionals from different hospitals also took part in the preparation of this activity.

Mental Health and TV Shows: treatment and stigma is back this summer. This workshop kickstarted last year because of the Festa Major de la UAB 2017 slogan: “Mental Health, visible and without stigma in UAB”. Sessions will take place in Sala Annexa within the Hotel d’Entitats de la UAB during 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11 July from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Mental Health and TV shows: treatment and stigma aims to raise awareness among the UAB community on the stigmas around mental health by analyzing cultural products. Attendees will watch extracts of different TV shows and/or movies that they will analyze with tools in order to identify stigmatifying behaviours on mental health issues.

Each session will tackle a topic related to mental health (autism, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, medicines, suicide, etc.)  – you can check the activity programme in the Dinamització Comunitària Unit’s website. This workshop was organized by CORE of Mental Health and the Faculty of Psicolog. Several professionals from different hospitals also took part in the preparation of this activity.

The activity is free and is addressed to all members in the UAB community. Students can get 2 ECTS credits if they attend and actively take part in tho 80 % of the sessions, and the Administrative and Service Staff (PAS) can compensate hours if they meet the requirements established by the training unity in UAB.
