Marta Borrueco delivers training on career support and mental health for coaches and athletes in Brussels.
Marta Borrueco, invited by Dr. Koen De Brandt, recently participated as a guest lecturer at the Faculty of Sport Science & Physiotherapy of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Her intervention took place within the “Training & Coaching” specialization of the Master Sport & Movement, where she provided her academic and professional insights to postgraduate students in the field of high-performance sports.
The sessions were held within the modules: “Career Support in High-Performance Sport” and “Career planning for Trainers & Coaches in High Performance.” During the classes, fundamental issues for the holistic support of athletes were addressed, including career development environments and the importance of mental health in top-level competitive settings.
Furthermore, the focus was placed on socially relevant topics such as life skills and the career paths of women in sports. This international participation strengthens IRE-UAB's academic ties with European centers, promoting the exchange of knowledge regarding talent management and the well-being of professionals in the sector.
