Emilio Fernández Peña teaches in the international master's program in Olympic Studies at the IOA
Emilio Fernández, director of the UAB Olympic Studies Centre and IRE-UAB, has been a guest lecturer at the Olympic Studies, Olympic Education, Organization and Management of Olympic Events at the International Olympic Academy, Olympia, Greece.
This edition’s cohort of students has been truly inspiring — a group full of talent and passion, who will play a key role in shaping the future of the Olympic Movement.
Prof. Fernandez Peña was teaching on communication of the Olympic Games, offering valuable insights into how the International Olympic Committee (IOC) manages communication from a comprehensive perspective on TV production and global audiences, artificial Intelligence in the Olympic Movement and digital brand management and social media strategies.
The programme is promoted by the Department of Sports Organization and Management of the Faculty of Human Movement and Quality of Life Sciences of the University of Peloponnese with the support of the International Olympic Academy.
Prof. Emilio Fernández Peña has developed a long term collaboration with the IOA, as guest lecturer in various international teaching activities targetting Olympic Movement organisations and postgraduate researchers. Since 2022, he is founding member of the IOA Scientific Comission, integrated by six internationally renowed academics and the IOA Dea, aimed to promote new academic and innovation activities.
Through this activity, CEO-UAB and IRE-UAB strengthens its international presence and contributes to promote international collaboration, sharing knowledge to drive innovation and uphold Olympic values in sports communication.
