UAB prepares the Week of Quick HIV and Hepatitis Test

FAS is preparing plenty of activities and events to raise awareness on the HIV/AIDS topic on the occasion of World AIDS Day on 1 December.
 
UAB is preparing the Week of Quick HIV and Hepatitis Test. You will have the opportunity to take STI tests with the organization Actúa Vallès on 20 and 21 November from 10:30 a.m to 1.30 p.m and 3:30 p.m to 5 p.m in the Centre de Recursos per a Col·lectius (Plaça Cívica). Furthermore, you are invited to visit el Xiringu, part of the FAS Health Programme, from 1 p.m to 3 p.m. There you will find useful information about HIV/AIDS and other STI and its prevention as well as games managed by the project’s Health Agents.
 
This year we are also celebrating the 20 Anniversary of the Comité 1r de Desembre, an NGO platform that works to tackle the HIV/AIDS issue in Catalonia and has several entities as members, FAS being one of them.
 
For this very reason, a 20 Anniversary Session will be held in Pati Llimona (Centre Cívic del Gòtic) on 16 December at 10 a.m. This event will go over 20 years of fighting discrimination and stigmatization of seropositives, 20 years of trying to get policies to promote changes that improve the living conditions of VIH-positive people.
 
On the other hand, an event related to this campaign will be held on 5 December to raise awareness on the issue within the university community. #CompartirMomentos (‘Sharing Moments’) wants to raise awareness through conversations in which a patient and a doctor will dismantle myths and stigmas about HIV. The event will take place in Sala de Graus, inside Facultat de Filosofia i Lletres, at 12.30 p.m and will last 2 hours. Once it’s over you can come by to the informative #Xiringu, managed by FAS Health Programme, about HIV/AIDS and other STI.
 
Lastly, on World AIDS Day, December 1, the FAS Health Programme will join Comité 1r de Desembre in the activities they will carry out in Plaça Sant Jaume (morning) and in Plaça dels Àngels (evening) in Barcelona, where you will find information stands and plenty of activities and surprises that will teach you things about HIV/AIDS you were not aware of.
