Refugees Programme
Refugee
The UAB Refugee Programme helps enhance university practices to support the rights of forcibly displaced people and individuals seeking international protection, assisting them in rebuilding their lives and futures. In a global context marked by increased forced displacement and ongoing violations of the rights of migrants and refugees, universities must also respond to this situation.
Launched in 2016, the programme is implemented by the Fundació Autònoma Solidària (FAS) in coordination with various university stakeholders.
The programme is built around three main areas of action: training, awareness-raising, and participation, with networking serving as a cross-cutting theme.
The main actions it carries out include:
Personalised support
Personalised guidance: academic orientation, support with the legalisation of documentation, legal advice, and access to other services (languages, employment, healthcare, etc.).

#UABRefugi Scholarships

Peer mentoring
Peer mentoring groups are made up of students or members of the university community who volunteer to support refugees as they become part of campus life.
Awareness-raising campaigns and training activities
Activities aimed at promoting a critical understanding of forced displacement and human migration within the UAB community from an intersectional gender perspective based on human rights.
