The UAB maintains its position as one of the top 200 universities in the world in the Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities, published by the National Taiwan University (NTU).

Unique skin impressions of last European dinosaurs discovered in Barcelona
UAB researchers, in collaboration with the Institut Català de Paleontologia Miquel Crusafont, have discovered in Vallcebre an impression fossil of the surface of the skin of a dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous, a period shortly before they went extinct. Its characteristics make it a unique discovery in Europe.
Solidarity breakfast on the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty
On 17 and 18 October, the restaurants at the faculties of Science and Bioscience will offer free solidarity breakfasts in exchange for a kilogram of non-perishable food in commemoration of International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
Sustainable and Safe Mobility Week
The UAB's Sustainable and Safe Mobility Week will take place from 24 to 28 October, with mobility-related activities every day on the Bellaterra Campus for the entire community. On Thursday 27 October bicycles will be the stars during the celebration of "Bicycle Day".

Rosa Maria Calaf opens the academic year defending journalism, education and gender equality
Rosa Maria Calaf spoke on education as the people's "catalyst of rights", defended the role of journalism in democratic societies and called to continue fighting for gender equality at the opening lecture of this new academic year, in an event celebrated on 3 October at the Rectorat building.
University senate members elected
The university community (students, teaching and research staff, administration and services staff) elected its senate representatives through an electronic voting system. Members can view the provisional results at the elections website (in Catalan).
New UAB Mediation Committee created
The UAB, thanks to an initiative by the governing team, has created a mediation committee with the aim of resolving possible conflicts which could deteriorate the relations between different members of the university community.
The UAB continues to lead Spanish universities in The Time's ranking
The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona is once again the top university in Spain according to the Times Higher Education World University Ranking 2016-2017
