"Sex in Roman Times" on display until 15 June
This is the first time the exhibition is shown outside of a museum and contains some eighty pieces from 11 different museums of Catalonia which focus on sexuality in Roman society.

Support for thesis writing: new courses
In April, we will be running new courses aimed at helping you write your doctoral thesis in English or Catalan. To enrol in the course, please come to our offices at least two working days before the course starts.
The UAB celebrates its 50th anniversary with an array of events
Different events such as a popular walk, debates, concerts, book presentations, etc. will take place in celebration of the university's 50th anniversary and lead up to the main event on 6 June, a celebration dinner at the SAF building.
Bike to the UAB and win prizes
The UAB opens a new period in which members of the univeristy community can participate in the “Bike to the UAB” challenge. All kilometres biked by participants from 15 February to 15 March will be registered.
Climate Change Threatens World's Largest Seagrass Carbon Stores
Shark Bay seagrass carbon storage hotspot suffers alarming losses after a devastating marine heat wave, according to a study led by ICTA-UAB researchers. The loss of seagrass would have released up to nine million metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere.
Health and Sustainability Week
The UAB will celebrate its 9th Health and Sustainability Week from 16 to 20 April: over 50 activities (workshops, conferences, races, sports, and many more) open to all members of the university community with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle. On Wednesday and Thursday there will also be food trucks and live music.
New gene involved in familial breast cancer discovered
A study led by UAB and Hospital de Sant Pau researcher Jordi Durallé deminstrates with massive sequencing techniques that the frequency of carriers of EDC4 mutations in patients with familial cancer is six times greater than in healthy individuals.
Blood vessels also affected by Alzheimer's disease
A research conducted by the UAB demonstrates that mice suffering from Alzheimer's also have substantial malfunctions in small blood vessels, mainly affecting female mice, and find a correlation between the state of arteries and levels of anxious behaviours, both in normal ageing and in those with the disease.
The UAB launches its second International Alumni Chapter in Beijing
The UAB Alumni Beijing Chapter was born with the objective of maintaining ties with former UAB students in Beijing, favouring networking between communities and fostering peer-to-peer relationships.
