A new predictive artificial intelligence method combining NIR and chemometrics for illicit drug analysis in collaboration with the Mossos d’Esquadra.

A study has been published in the prestigious journal Analytical Chemistry (American Chemical Society, ACS) regarding the development of a new analytical method based on chemometrics and handheld NIR technology for the analysis of illicit drugs seized by the Mossos d’Esquadra. The work, resulting from a collaboration with the Scientific Police Division, enables the rapid and in-situ identification and quantification of substances such as cocaine, MDMA, and THC-related products.
Thermochromic Labels for Food Cold Chain Monitoring

The FOODTRACK project, a collaboration involving UAB, ICN2 and ColorSensing S.L., aims to develop thermochromic labels that signal cold chain failures during the entire supply chain of refrigerated food. This low-cost, user-friendly solution would enable enhanced food safety, while contributing to the reduction of food waste.
Nanotechnology to Prevent Radiodermatitis in Breast Cancer Patients

The NANORADIOMED project, a collaboration involving UAB, ICN2, the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP), and CARINSA Group, aims to prevent and treat some of the most common side effects associated with radiotherapy in breast cancer patients. Its technology is based on the controlled release of active ingredients through microcapsules integrated into clothing, with the goal of improving patients’ quality of life.
