Sant Llorenç de Montgai Archaeological Park

Imatge del Parc Arqueològic de Sant Llorenç de Montgai

The Sant Llorenç de Montgai Archaeological Park is dedicated to programming educational and leisure activities. It was designed with the objective of bringing the public closer to prehistoric life and to the research methods used in archaeology. It aims to make available knowledge on the cultural heritage offered by archaeological sites and their surroundings.

The park consists in replicas of prehistoric campsites and villages, both from the Palaeolithic and from the Neolithic periods. It also includes spaces simulating different elements of an archaeological dig which help visitors become familiar with both current research techniques and those used in the Palaeolithic and Neolithic periods.

Of the different activities offered, some of the most important are Prehistòria’t (Prehistorise Yourself), Nit prehistòrica (Prehistoric Night) and Arqueòleg per un dia (Archaelogist for a Day).

During the school year an educational programme organised by the Ministry for Education of the Government of Catalonia, the La Noguera Learning Camp, takes place at the park's facilities.
