You can still sign up for the University Debate League

Once the local phase of High School Debate League is over we welcome the arrival of the University Debate League, which will take place from 19 to 21 March 2019. If you are a student in UAB enrolled in the 2018/2019 academic year, you have time to sign up until 14 March.

Once the local phase of High School Debate League is over we welcome the arrival of the University Debate League, which will take place from 19 to 21 March 2019. If you are a student in UAB enrolled in the 2018/2019 academic year, you have time to sign up until 14 March. This year’s debate topic will be: “Should surrogacy be legalized?”.

Registration for the league, organized by Xarxa Vives d’Universitats, will be done in groups of two students minimum and five maximum, although students who cannot find a partner can register and the organizers will try to find them a group. If finding partners is not possible, the student will not be able to participate individually. Every group will have a captain or spokesperson who will mediate with the organizers. 

UAB students will have the chance to recognize their participation in the league with 2 ECTS credits. If you wish to do so, you have to indicate it in the registration form, which all members need to fill in individually as well as indicate the name of the group’s captain. 

The winning team in this local phase will represent UAB in the University Debate League which will take place in Universitat Abat Oliba CEU (Barcelona) from 8 to 11 April 2019.

High School Debate League

The High School Debate League local phase took place in Sala Teatre de la UAB from 25 to 28 February 2019. A total of twenty-three institutes tackled the topic: “Are borders between countries necessary?”. Institut Can Roca de Terrassa was proclaimed as winner for the second year in a row and, thus, will represent UAB in the league’s final phase, which will take place from 3 to 5 April 2019 in Universitat Abat Oliba CEU.
