The UAB organises a Wikimarathon on Cultural Heritage as part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage, the International Open Access Week and the UAB's 50th anniversay celebrations.

On 23 and 24 October, the UAB will hold its Wikimarathon on Cultural Heritage as part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage, the International Open Access Week and the UAB's 50th anniversay celebrations.

The Wikimarathon brings together Wikipedia editors so that they can edit, improve and expand on the information existing on a specific Wikipedia theme or group of articles. On this occasion, the UAB will be focusing on Cultural Heritage on campus and the works of art student co-exist with every day.

The first session will begin with a guided visit to the different works of art found around the UAB, such as the Piano Track, located in front of the Rectorat building; the Enclavament de Bellaterra, between the Eix Central and the Faculty of Law; and the symbol which welcomes all to the campus, the UAB Columns.

The last session will consist in a Wikipedia editing workshop, where new editors will learn how to navigate through the page and make their first modifications. For this activity, participants will need to bring their own laptops from which they can create and edit quality content on the UAB's cultural heritage.

This event aims to disseminate the information available on the UAB's cultural heritage through the Catalan version of Wikipedia and any of the other languages spoken on campus. It aims to foster participation among the university community and offer quality information to both members of the UAB and the public in general.
