US professors to visit Spanish universities

18/10/2011
The Commission for Cultural, Educational and Scientific Exchange between the United States and Spain offers this initiative in which visiting professors from the US can spend three to five months in Spain between September 2013 and July 2014 to take part in doctoral courses or seminars.
The call is open to all university study areas. Priority will be given to applications focusing on more general courses not commonly offered at university.
The commission will be in charge of the travel and housing arrangements and insurance coverage of visiting professors and their families, whereas universities will be responsible for co-financing the stay of visiting professors. A detailed description of the course, academic calendar and boarding options for visiting professors will also be assessed.
Deadline for submitting applications is 1 December. The application form can be found at the Fulbright Commission website. University departments also have the option of requesting a specific professor. In this case, applications must be sent to participate in the Fulbright Programme through its US offices between 1 February and 1 August 2012. The commission will award the grants to professors in February 2013.
The Fulbright Programme is a pioneer programme in intercultural education and was founded in 1946 by American senator J. William Fulbright. In its over six decades the programme has included over 250,000 participants, many of them significant representatives of the world of education and science (over 20 Nobel Laureates), of politics and the arts, and of administration and business.
