The UAB participated in the "Manifesto for Life" initiative
The UAB will form part of the initiative "Manifesto for Life" proposed by the Catalan Government's Ministry for Health. The initiative forms part of the World Suicide Prevention Day, held on 10 September.

To mark World Suicide Prevention Day, which will be celebrated on 10 September, the Ministry for Health of the Government of Catalonia launches the “Manifesto for Life” initiative.
This initiative invites health centres, organisations, and citizens to join in by sharing videos of support or public readings of the manifesto on Wednesday 10 September, to raise awareness of the importance of suicide prevention and support for life.
The initiative aims to break the silence, fight the stigma, and reaffirm the collective commitment to mental health and caring for people.
The manifesto highlights that suicidal behaviour, far from being an isolated or incomprehensible act, is often the result of sustained and unbearable psychological distress, loneliness, or a lack of resources to cope with life's difficulties and find the necessary help. “Suicide is a complex and multifactorial reality, but it is also preventable,” the document states.
The initiative is part of the set of measures in the Catalonia Suicide Prevention Plan (PLAPRESC) 2021-2025, which promotes a comprehensive and coordinated response from the health system to reduce suicidal behaviour and offer care and support to those affected.
World Suicide Prevention Day
World Suicide Prevention Day was established in 2003 in conjunction with the World Health Organization (WHO) with the aim of reaching national organisations, governments, and the general public, conveying a clear message: suicide can be prevented.
