The UAB organises its 2nd Entrepreneurs' Day

The session aims to foster the entrepreneur spirit among students and will take place on 20 November at the conference hall of the Faculty of Business and Economics. It will include the participation of experts in business creation and funding of entrepreneurial projects.

Entrepreneurs' Day is part of the UAB Emprèn Programme, created by the university to foster the generation of business ideas and projects amongst the university community.

The session will be inaugurated by Ferran Sancho, Rector of the UAB, together with Gabriel Masfurroll, President of the Board of Trustees, and Jordi Massó, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics.

Guest speakers will include Xavier Verdaguer, serial entrepreneur and founder of the Imagine Creativity Center, TMT Factory and Innovalley. He will be speaking on the entrepreneur's spirit and disruptive innovation and will explain the successful cases which arose from the ideas and creativity centre he directs, and Pere Vallès, CEO at Scytl, an internationally renowned business and the result of a university-born project. Scytl develops cutting-edge technology for online voting processes and provides solutions to meet the modernisation needs for elections around the world.

A debate on the financing of entrepreneurial projects will allow to share updated information on key matters such as applying for funding, when is the best time to apply and which institutes and organisations can offer funding. The debate will include the participation of Laura Vila i Cabiró, project analyst at BANC (Business Angels Network Catalunya), Jesús Monleón, founder of SeedRocket and Ignasi Costas, Member of the Board and Head of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Department at Rousaud Costas Duran SLP.

Glòria González, Vice Rector for Quality, Teaching and Employability, will be in charge of moderating the debate and closing the session.
