The Gespa Price festival is a way to gather all people from the university community interested in art and culture: everyone can participate, both as a spectator or as an artist, and it is opened all levels.

On next May 28, Art en Curs will organize the third edition of the Gespa Price festival, an event conceived as a way to gather students interested in art, whatever the art form is. People willing to participate can send their works until May 23 to the Art en Curs email  (encursat@gmail.com), no matter whether they are amateurs or professional artists.

During the whole day, the works will be published in Art en Curs website, under the theme “how has the domestic space change during quarantine?”. The workpieces can be in two formats: visual arts in physical support, such as photography or painting; and video performace, whether it is dance, poetry, or any other art form. In the previous editions, the themes were the lawn as meeting space, in 2019; and the relay of the previous generations, in 2018, after the first edition.

Art en Curs is a student society that highlights artistic, cultural, and philosophical talents in the university and intends to contribute to creativity and the horizontal transference of knowledge within the university community.

The Gespa Price: a historic recital

The first edition of Gespa Price was in 1975 and, 44 years later, in 2018, Art en Curs decided to recover it. In that first meeting, held on May 15, more than two thousand students gathered at the Plaça Cívica of the UAB (a field back then) to listen to the seventy invited poets. From that day, we still have a video of the event and the relay taken by Art en Curs.
