Stanford University recently published its latest classification of the world's most influential scientists. The ranking places a total of 112 UAB researchers among the world's top 2% of researchers with influence in 2019.

The list is based on information gathered in the Scopus database and takes into consideration standardised information on parameters related to the impact of scientific publications:citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator. In addition, the classification allows for a comparison of metrics with and without self-citations.

The classification included over 161,000 scientists, all of whom were distributed along 22 different scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. The list presents the top 2% of scientists in each of their main fields, with representations from institutions from around the globe.
