As part of the collaboration agreement signed one year ago by the President of the Women for Africa Foundation María Teresa Fernández de la Vega and Rector of the UAB Margarita Arboix, Gambian student Sylvia Nana Ohenewah received a grant to study the UAB Master's Degree in Political Science.

According to Sylvia Nana, her stay at the UAB has been highly positive. "This has been a very interesting experience and I am very grateful", she said on Thursday 19 July at the Rectorat building when Vice Rector Sara Moreno and Director of the Fundació Autònoma Solidària Jordi Prat met with her and the team in charge of organising her stay to evaluate the experience.

The objective of the agreement is to contribute to improving Africa's development through the design and implementation of joint projects and programmes in the field of university training and research.

The agreement has enabled African student Sylvia Nana Ohenewah to further her studies with the UAB Master's Degree in Political Science in the 2017/18 academic year. A new student has already been selected for the next academic year, who will also study the same master's degree. This year's student is Martha Ogochukwu Dennis from Nigeria.

For years now, the Women for Africa Foundation has been awarding grants to study in different Spanish universities.

The coordination of this academic stay is conducted by the Vice Rector's Office for Students and Employability, while the Fundació Autònoma Solidària (FAS) and the International Support Service of the International Relations Area collaborate by managing the arrival of the student and offering all the help needed during her stay.
