Are you interested in political science? This master's degree provides students with the theoretical and methodological tools and skills essential for those wanting to carry out doctoral research, or develop their academic career as consultants, analysts and political advisers.
Would you like to study in an international environment? This programme is offered in English and attracts international and multidiciplinary students, and welcomes applications from graduates in political science and other social sciences.
The master's degree is taught by professors and researchers in the Department of Political Science at the UAB, together with professors from other universities from Spain and abroad.
It offers an academic structure that allows students to adapt themselves professionally to highly qualified environments in the fields of research, public administration, political institutions, public and political as well as non-governmental organisations, as well as companies from the private sector and their relations with the public sector.
Career options
The Master's degree in Political Science is an advanced studies programme that enables students to move on into the following highly-qualified professional groups:Research: advanced research in politics, activities that allow the generation of new scientific knowledge in the discipline, exhaustive and precise analysis of complex political phenomena, transfer of knowledge using the appropriate formats depending on the type of audience.
Public administration: directive, management, coordination, study, assessment and planning tasks in any sector of public administration, political institutions and organisations operating at international, European, national, regional or local levels.
Political organisations, interest-representing and non-governmental organisations: direction, strategic planning, assessment, coordination and communication within the organisation.
Private sector: tasks requiring highly qualified advisers, consultancy and assistance in public administration bodies, political institutions and organisations, interest-representing and non-governmental organisations, as well as liaison between state-run and private enterprises.
