Record participation in the School of Engineering's MEMEnginy fair
Record-breaking participation of students and companies in this year's MEMEnginy fair at the UAB School of Engineering. On 24 April the fair once again became a meeting point for young talent and companies in the ICT and engineering sector, welcoming nearly 1,500 students and 80 companies in its 11th edition.

This year included a pilot project to accompany neurodivergent students, who received the support of specialists during the job interviews.
The MEMEnginy fair, organised by the Student Council of the School of Engineering with the support of the direction of the School of Engineering and the UAB, brought together on 24 April some 80 companies in the information and communication technologies (ICT) and engineering sector, mainly from the Vallès region, as well as some 1,500 students.
The main objective of this technology fair was to bring young university talent closer to companies in these sectors. That is why one of the main activities of the day was focused on companies being able to interview throughout the day students who previously registered for the activity and showed interest in some of the companies.
In this year's edition, and as the main novelty, students who met face to face with companies had previously taken a training programme to prepare their CV, improve their presence on LinkedIn and learn how to make an elevator pitch. In addition, they also went through a process in which AI evaluated their personal and professional skills. These were preliminary steps to prepare students and to discover their profile in more detail, information that is provided to companies, and that helped to significantly improve the success of these meetings.
Another new feature of this year's edition was the launch of a pilot project to accompany neurodivergent students with specific needs. A team of specialists provided support to them during the interviews so that they could transmit their full potential when facing professional challenges. A thousand quick job interviews took place throughout the day, which represents an increase of almost 100% compared to the 2024 edition.
Moreover, companies such as Deloitte, Symrise, Boehringuer Ingelheim, Grifols, NTT Data, Roche, Seat S.A, Schneider Electric, SEIDOR Semidynamics and Huawei had exhibition spaces where they presented the full range of possibilities they offer in the work environment.
MEMEnginy's activities were completed with different conferences that dealt with aspects of maximum interest such as AI adapted to both logistics and the chemical and environmental industry, smart cities, data, blockchain technology, supply chains and cybersecurity.
Another novelty of this year's edition was the MEMEnginy's mascot, a chameleon. This emblematic reptile was chosen for its ability to adapt to different environments, reflecting the values of flexibility, innovation and constant evolution that characterise MEMEnginy and the values it represents.
A leading technological congress within the university world
MEMEnginy celebrated its eleventh edition this year. Since its creation, it has evolved to become one of the largest technological congresses in the Catalan and state university environment. The first edition took place in 2014. One of the main particularities of this congress is that the students themselves, with the help of the School, organise and promote the MEMEnginy fair. What started as a small event with only 4 companies and 50 students has been experiencing an exponential growth throughout all these years that has catapulted it to have 80 companies and the participation of the 1,500 students in this year's edition.
