The II International Symposium on Salvador Espriu, organised as part of the Espriu Year, aims to discovering more about the author's works by focusing on the period immediately following the publication of "La pell de brau", the figure of Espriu after the 1960s, a moment in which he was conditioned by success and international projection as well as by the civic role of his poems.

Creative Complexity in his Later Years
At that moment the literary creations of Salvador Espriu began to sway between new personal projects and the external demands in which he was asked to collaboration in collective projects or to revise already published works with the aim of preparing all sorts of new editions and re-editions.

The Symposium aims to subject to international scientific debate the problems typically associated with Espriu in his later years through thematic itineraries displaying the creative complexity of the writer in the last years of his life.

One Hundred Scholars, Professors, Students and Experts
Participating in the symposium will be scholars and researchers, teachers and lecturers, university students and persons interested in the works of Espriu from Catalonia and Spain, Italy, France and Great Britain. It is the most important academic event addressed to the research community in this year dedicated to Espriu. The aim is to open new lines of academic studies and research.

Arenys de Mar and Bellaterra Campus
The symposium is structured into four sessions which join communications by themes and include tree round tables. On 13 November the conferences will be held at the Calisay Cultural Centre in Arenys de Mar, where the opening session will be held with a performance of "Amb Salvador Espriu" on the works of Salvador Espriu and Santós Hernánez, performed by the Association of Spectators of the Teatre Lliure.

On 14 and 15 November the symposium will move to the Auditorium of the UAB Faculty of Philosophy and Arts, where the following sessions will take place: "Espriu i les Arts", "Relacions i debats intel·lectuals", "Poètica i Hermenèutica", and "Les revisions de l'obra".
