On 14 February, from 9 to 11 a.m., the UAB will be selling hot chocolate beverages in a supportive initiative to raise money for research projects conducted at the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona, a leading hospital in children's and maternal healthcare. The UAB is the first university to join the initiative in which other education centres already participate.

In order to carry out this supportive initiative, the UAB will receive the help of catering services Aramark, Clece and Grup Soteras, and of Xocolates Torras, who will provide all the necessary ingredients. The 3,000 hot chocolate servings (approximately 600 litres) and sweet fingers will served by volunteers at ten different locations of the UAB (Communication, Education and Translation and Interpreting, Engineering, Arts and Humanities, Psychology, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Rectorat building, Sabadell campus and between the buildings of Sciences and Biosciences and Social Sciences). Each serving will cost a minimum donation of two euros which can be deposited in the boxes located next to the hot chocolate stand. All boxes will then be delivered directly to the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu.
