First Marcela de Juan Chinese Translation Prize to be awarded
The 1st Marcela de Juan Chinese Translation Prize will be awarded on 16 October and includes a 4,000 Euro prize to the best Chinese into Spanish translation published in the past four years. The prize is awarded every two years and alternates between Catalan and Spanish translations.

The prize, whose name honours one of the most outstanding figures in Chinese into Spanish translations, is awarded every two years and alternates between translations into Spanish and into Catalan. In this first edition, two Spanish translations were presented, published between 2013 and 2016. The 2019 edition will be the first to award a literary work translated into Catalan.
The jury was formed by Dr Gabriel García Noblejas, PhD in Chinese-Spanish translations at the University of Oviedo; Dr Manel Ollé, professor in Modern and Contemporary History and Culture of China at the Pompeu Fabra Uni
