Finalists of the 6th edition of the "Thesis in 4 Minutes" competition to present their theses on 17 May

The "Thesis in 4 Minutes" competition final, in which students present their PhD thesis in a maximum of four minutes, will take place on 17 May at 12 noon at the UAB Doctoral School. The event will be streamed live on the UAB's YouTube channel.

On 17 May the PhD students selected by the jury will present their research in a simple language suitable for a general audience in a maximum time of four minutes.

The finalists who will present their PhD thesis before the panel will be Joselyn Godoy Briceño (Education), Gabriel Maroli (Chemistry), Carlos Mayobre Hermo (Plant Biology and Biotechnology), Dorota Mlynarczyk (Mathematics), Elena Roel (Methodology of Biomedical Research and Public Health), Alex Romero Rivera (Person and Society in the Contemporary World), Camille Noé Servin Barthet (Psychiatry), Lucia Verdugo Gonzalez (Food Science), Laia Vila Solés (Neurosciences), Paula Ferrer Raventós (Neurosciences) and Alexia García Serrano (Neurosciences).

The jury, made up of a representative of the Office of the Vice-Rector for Research, a representative of the Office of the Vice-Rector for Communication and Culture, and research members of the UAB and the Permanent Board of the Doctoral School, will award the prizes, endowed with different economic amounts. The first prize is €800, plus the cost of the winner's trip to Lleida to present his or her PhD thesis in the final of the "Thesis in 4 minutes" competition of the Catalan Foundation for Research, which will take place on 22 June 2023. The second prize is endowed with €500 and the public prize, with €200. This year, as a novelty, a special Joan Oró prize will be awarded for the transmission of values and entrepreneurship, endowed with €300 (both the public prize and the Joan Oró prize are compatible and cumulative with the jury's awards).
