The online conference will reflect upon the interrelation of reproductive rights, justice and governance with the objective of using an interdisciplinary perspective to raise awareness among professionals and society in general about the ailments related to the reproductive health of women.

Five topics affecting female reproductive health will be discussed: the reproductive life cycle of women; assisted reproduction; obstetric violence from a holistic and interdisciplinary approach; diability, reproduction, gender and health, and barriers in access to information and pregnancy termination services.

The conference will invite attendants to reflect upon how some forms of body governance and reproductive processes in women and people capable of bearing children make (in)visible certain ailments, tiredness and pathologies that may affect their physical, emotional, mental and social well-being, and their sexual and reproductive rights.

The conference will begin on Monday 24 October at 1 p.m. with speeches by María Antonia Morillas, director of the Institute of Women of the Spanish Ministry for Equality; Montserrat Pineda, secretary for Feminisms of the Catalan Ministry for Equality and Feminisms; and Diana Marre, director of the AFIN research group and lecturer at the UAB.

At 1:30 p.m., a series of debates and sessions will begin and be offered during the rest of the week. Also participating in the conference will be lecturers and researchers from universities and research centres from the United States, Spain, Australia, Great Britain, India, Argentina and Chile.

The closing session, to be held on Friday 28 October at 6:30 p.m., will be given by Dr Carme Valls, specialist in endocrinology and medicine with a gender perspective; Sílvia de Zordo, social anthropologist at the UB; and Vanessa Mantilla, AFIN researcher at the UAB and congress coordinator.
