07/11/2013
The federation highlighted the tasks conducted by the researchers in educating these students, in acquiring oral and written language, the educational methods used in communicating within the family and the effects of using new technologies (digital hearing aids and cochlear implants). The award also recognises the training carried out at GISTAL with speech therapists and teachers who work with deaf children using the oral method and the active collaboration of the research group with the entity.
The statue that symbolises the award, made by A. Clariana, a deaf and mute artist, was awarded to the researchers during the 18th edition of training sessions in oral methods for the hearing impaired. The event was held on 26 October in Barcelona and the award was presented by Raimon Jané, President of ACAPPS, to Núria Silvestre, chair professor in Evolutionary Psychology, who was accompanied by group members Cristina Cambra, Cristina Laborda, Àngels Miès, Anna Ramspott, Mireia Rom, Núria Rosich, Carrasumada Serrano and Jesús Valero.
