Amparo Hurtado receives honorary doctorate from the Ricardo Palma University of Lima

Faculty of Translation and Interpreting professor Amparo Hurtado was awarded the highest academic distinction by the Ricardo Palma University of Lima: the Peruvian institution awarded her an honorary doctorate for her contributions in the field of translation studies.

Amparo Hurtado, professor of the Department of Translation and Interpreting & East Asian Studies, was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Ricardo Palma University of Lima, Peru, in recognition for her academic and research tasks in the field of translation.

The ceremony took place in the "Cervantes" auditorium of the Faculty of Humanities and Modern Languages, where Dr Hurtado gave a speech entitled "La formación del traductor". The awardee is considered an eminence in translation theory and in training language professionals. She is the head researcher of the PACTE Group and author, among other works, of La enseñanza de la traducción (Universitat Jaume I), Enseñar a traducir: Metodología en la formación de traductores e intérpretes (Edelsa) and Traducción y Traductología: Introducción a la traductología (Cátedra).
