The UAB to host 25th edition of the Drac Novell International Festival
The Advertising, Communication and Marketing Guild, with the collaboration of the UAB, is organising the 25th edition of the Drac Novell International Festival, which will take place in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Communication Studies on Thursday 23 November. The festival, which aims to award students presenting the best advertising campaigns, received almost 200 proposals this year. The event will also serve to present the winners of the José María Ricarte National Creativity Award.
The Drac Novell International Festival is the only of its kind to be dedicated exclusively to advertising and communication students with the objective of uniting the business and academic sectors in this field.
The Drac Novell International is the only festival in the world to be dedicated to advertising and communication students which aims to bring together these two business and academic sectors. Organised by the Advertising, Communication and Marketing Guild, in collaboration with the UAB Faculty of Communication Studies in this 25th edition, its objective is to award the best advertising campaigns presented by students.
The Aula Magna of the Faculty of Communication Studies will host the celebration of this festival on Thursday 23 November. In the morning, at 10:30 a.m., the president of the Advertising Guild, Laia Rogel, and the dean of the Faculty, Enric Marín, will welcome the attendees and then a series of lectures and workshops will be offered on the latest advertising and communication trends.
Beatriz Martín, director of digitalisation at BBDO & Proximity, will offer the conference "Unlocking the potential of generative AI". Daniel Martínez-Tessier, director of growth at Team Heretics, and José María Ricarte de Gracia, director of communication and business at Team Heretics, will present the paper "That's entertainment! ". Eva Conesa, partner and executive creative director of Twoelf and Más Mujeres Creativas will give a talk, and finally Cinto Ajram, founder and CEO of CA Sports, will present the colloquium "Sponsorship, how to connect with brands".
In the afternoon, from 4 p.m. onwards, the awards ceremony for advertising students will take place. In this 25th edition, the best works based on the sponsors' briefings (Infojobs, Fotocasa, MiiN, Renfe and Mychef) will be awarded. The presentation of the briefings took place on 27 October in an in-person and streaming session at the faculty, during which the participants had the opportunity to show their skills and talents in front of a selected audience and a jury made up of renowned industry experts. Over 200 creative proposals were presented.
José María Ricarte National Creativity Award
The second part of the event will be dedicated to presenting the José María Ricarte National Creativity Award. José Maria Ricarte was a scriptwriter, advertising creative, researcher for the group Publiradio, the first chair professor of advertising creativity in Spain and emeritus professor of the UAB.
Illustrator Pilarín Bayés is the winner of this year's edition in the individual category, and the Bizum payment application in the legal entity category.
