UAB Sport Psychology Research Group shares knowledge on mental health and youth sports at UIB

The event brought together professionals, researchers, and sports stakeholders to reflect on the psychological well-being of young athletes.
Professor Yago Ramis delivered a keynote on environments that promote mental health in sports, emphasizing the importance of creating positive and safe contexts for youth development.
Professor Miquel Torregrossa led a roundtable discussion with coaches, athletes, and professionals, fostering a rich and committed dialogue on mental health in sport performance.
Additionally, Joan Pons, IRE-UAB academic collaborator and promotor of the event, presented the talk “The Protective Role of Emotional Regulation in the Mental Health of Young Athletes”, highlighting the value of emotional skills as a key tool for prevention and mental well-being.
This participation reaffirms the group’s commitment to healthy sports practices and the holistic development of young people, contributing to knowledge exchange between universities and professionals in the field.
