Teresa di Bella carries out a stay at IRE-UAB focused on the psychology of career growth in young athletes
The doctoral student from the Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, has joined the Institute as a visiting student for a six-month research stay
Teresa di Bella’s stay allows for a deeper understanding of the psychological factors that shape the career growth of young and adolescent athletes
The stay, taking place between November 2025 and April 2026, is part of her PhD studies focused on sport psychology. The researcher is working within the Research Group in Sport and Exercise Psychology (GEPE) under the supervision of Dr. Miquel Torregrossa, aiming to deepen her applied knowledge and get involved in the international projects led by the group.
The main focus of her research during this period is the study of the growth and evolution of young and adolescent athletes throughout their sporting careers. Through methodological exchange with the IRE-UAB team, Di Bella analyzes the psychological factors influencing talent development and the well-being of athletes in their formative years, a priority line of work for GEPE.
Beyond her academic work, Teresa brings a strong motivation to learn and get involved in projects that optimize the performance and well-being of athletes from a psychological perspective. This drive to deepen her applied knowledge allows the IRE to continue strengthening international ties and advance the study of career growth in European sport.
