Miquel Torregrossa opened the AIPS congress in Rome as an invited keynote speaker to present the latest advancements in dual careers.

The XXV National Congress of the Associazione Italiana di Psicologia dello Sport e dell'Esercizio (AIPS), held in Rome from May 22nd to 24th this year under the presidency of Dr. Luana Morgilli and AIPS President Gladys Bounous, featured Miquel Torregrossa as the person responsible for opening the conference sessions on Friday, May 22nd, by delivering the event's opening keynote speech. This year's congress was presented under the official theme "Inside the field: people, relationships, contexts", proposing a shift in perspective focused on the athlete's surroundings.

Miquel's intervention focused specifically on dual career, the field of study that examines how athletes balance their high-performance careers with education and the labor market. In addition to delivering the opening lecture, the researcher actively participated in a ninety-minute round table dedicated exclusively to discussing current strategies and challenges in dual careers. This discussion space included a final question-and-answer session where experiences were shared with sports psychology professionals from across Italy.

This edition of the congress focused on analyzing not only the individual practicing physical activity, but also the various contexts surrounding them, from technical staff and family to school, the sports club, and the impact of social media. The core purpose is to address all these different relationships and contexts that accompany athletes throughout their sporting journey and within their community.
