Colombian Professor Albeiro Sánchez Jiménez conducts a research stay at IRE-UAB
The UAB Sports Research Institute (IRE-UAB) welcomed Professor Albeiro Sánchez Jiménez, a faculty member of the School of Physical Culture, Sport, and Recreation at Santo Tomás University and the Agustín Fernández IED School in Bogotá, Colombia.
The visit is part of the development of the Olimpicaf project and strengthens academic collaboration between Colombian institutions and the UAB in the field of education and Olympic studies.
Following this meeting, Professor Sánchez has worked alongside the director of the CEO-UAB, Dr. Emilio Fernández, with the aim of advancing Olimpicaf. This is a pioneering project that integrates Olympism into physical education, and both experts have delved into its pedagogical and methodological foundations. During the working sessions, they explored strategies to enhance the educational and social impact of this initiative, which stands out for its work in promoting Olympic values in schools.
This exchange has also opened lines of dialogue regarding the future institutionalization of Olympic studies at Santo Tomás University. The collaboration helps consolidate the ties between both institutions and develop an Ibero-American network committed to research and pedagogy in the field of sports.
