Carla Alfonso Martín, finalist in the UAB 2025 «Thesis in 4 Minutes» Competition

Carla Alfonso Martín, a predoctoral researcher at IRE-UAB, was a finalist and received the Assumpció Català i Poch special mention for promoting and supporting the Catalan language in the UAB 2025 “Thesis in 4 Minutes” competition.

Carla Alfonso Martín was a finalist with her presentation “When the Heart and Mind Speak: Using Devices to Understand the Athlete,” and received the Assumpció Català i Poch special mention for promoting and supporting the Catalan language, which includes a €300 prize.

Carla Alfonso is a doctoral student in the Health and Sport Psychology program and a member of the consolidated research group Lifestyle, Sport and Health (SGR2021-000806).

The competition took place in the Carles Perelló Hall of the Doctoral School and was broadcast live on the UAB’s YouTube channel. It featured the participation of nine doctoral students.

The “Thesis in 4 Minutes” competition challenges doctoral students from any scientific discipline to explain their research orally in a maximum of 4 minutes, using simple and easily understandable language for a general audience.
