Future of school lunch ingredients on debate

The QSA Forum of Food Norms (Fòrum Normes Alimentàries QSA) and the UAB Foundation organise a seminar to debate on the weaknesses of the school lunch system and nutritional education, as well as to debate on the best practices which could be incorporated to form the bases of a healthy, just and sustainable diet. 

The seminar “Futur de l'alimentació en menjadors escolars: integrant salut, sostenibilitat i diversitat" will begin with an intervention by Director of UAB Prevention and Integral Safety and Security Montserrat Iglesias, and coordinator of Fòrum Normes Alimentàries QSA Juan Ramón Hidalgo. Following their speeches, dietist-nutritionist and member of the Fòrum QSA Jonathan Hernández will speak on school lunches and its evolution towards the current context ("Menjadors escolars: evolució del trinomi salut, sostenibilitat i diversitat en un context actual”). Also participating will be dietist-nutritionist and General Deputy Director of Health Promotion of the Catalan Public Health Agency Gemma Salvador, which will give a talk on revising school lunches and actions in the past 15 years: "Programa de revisió de menús escolars a Catalunya, PReME. Una estratègia de salut pública amb més de 15 anys d'evolució”.
