UAB Tourism and Hotel management launches a MOOC on Sustainable High-End Tourism

This free, open-access training course is the result of an Erasmus+ programme and addresses the foundations and characteristic of luxury tourism and it links with sustainability. The presentation event which took place on 29 November in the Edifici Blanc was attended by representatives of the public and private sectors offering and promoting premium experiences in Catalonia.

Two students win special mention at the 7th edition of the Hotusa Talent Match

Students Natalia Díaz and Andrea Castaño received a special mention from the jury for their innovative proposal of incorporating a virtual assistant at hotel reception desks. Five students from the bachelor's degree in Tourism also participated in the finals, in which 50 students from nine university centres were competing for the first prize.

Eight students take part in the Erasmus+ DEVOS Programme in Klagenfurt (Austria)

DEVOS (Developing Outstanding Sustainable Entrepreneurship Competencies) is a hybrid training programme based on sustainable entrepreneurship, led by Carinthia University of Applied Sciences and the Degrees in Tourism and Hotel Management at the UAB. The bachelor’s degree students spent a week in Klagenfurt developing innovative ideas alongside academics, teachers and entrepreneurs from Austria, Slovenia and Italy.

The UAB inaugurates a peace series with university members from Eastern Europe

On 6 April, the UAB will be holding an institutional event entitled "Vent de l'est: guerra i pau als confins d'Europa" [Wind From the East: war and peace on the edges of Europe], in which members of the university community from Serbia, Rumania, Russia and Ukraine will share their impressions on the conflict currently taking place in Ukraine. The event will begin at 1 p.m. at the Journals Hall of the Humanities Library, at the Faculty of Arts & Humanities.
