International students can now access information more quickly and easily, following the steps to enroll in a Spanish university. The pages, available in three languages, outline the requirements, documents, and deadlines needed to pursue Bachelor's Degrees, Higher Vocational Training Qualification (CFGS), Official Master's Degrees, and continuing education at FUAB schools.
First-year undergraduate students accepted during the 2nd allocation of places from the June university pre-enrollment will need to complete their online enrollment from July 23 to 25 (inclusive). From July 16 to 26 (inclusive), online enrollment for the 2024-2025 academic year will be available for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students in the degrees of Tourism, Tourism in English, and Hotel Management, through the website sia.uab.es. We interview Dr. Vita Petek, professor, sommelier, and researcher at the University of Maribor, in Slovenia, who has offered a wine tasting to the students of the Gastronomy and Oenology course. Dr. Petek is in a period of international stay at our university until June, within the framework of her research focused on oenological culture and eno-tourism, being her main research area wine, gastronomy, and eno-tourism.

This free, open-access training course is the result of an Erasmus+ programme and addresses the foundations and characteristic of luxury tourism and it links with sustainability. The presentation event which took place on 29 November in the Edifici Blanc was attended by representatives of the public and private sectors offering and promoting premium experiences in Catalonia.
Students Natalia Díaz and Andrea Castaño received a special mention from the jury for their innovative proposal of incorporating a virtual assistant at hotel reception desks. Five students from the bachelor's degree in Tourism also participated in the finals, in which 50 students from nine university centres were competing for the first prize.
The eight students will travel from 4 to 6 May to Madrid to present their projects: an app to meet other hotel guests, and a tourist services search engine integrated into hotel receptions. Two students from the UAB bachelor's degree in Hotel Management were the winners of last year's edition of this inter-university competition on innovation in the tourism and hotel sector.
Through a scholarship, 4 students travelled to Brussels as part of the Erasmus+ SUHET programme, to take part in a high quality intensive training programme in luxury or high-end tourism and sustainability. In addition, 8 undergraduate students visited the Carinthia region of Austria, to develop entrepreneurial and sustainable projects through the Erasmus+ DEVOS programme.
