Six UAB students were awarded grants from the "la Caixa" Foundation to carry out postgraduate studies at different universities in Europe during the 2017/18 academic year. This year a total of 65 grants have been awarded to students from around Spain.

It is located in 81st position in the Reuters News ranking, which assesses patents and the commercial impact of university research. The ranking is based on the data provided by Clarivate Analytics and analyses institutions which have applied for at least 50 patents between 2010 and 2015.
