The UAB Social Council organises the third edition of the UAB Games, which will take place from 21 to 25 November in different areas of the campus. The objective of these sports games is to help students discover another side of the UAB and discover and enjoy the campus' natural surroundings by playing sports. Those interested can sign up using this form from 7 to 11 November.
The main activities held for the Sustainable and Safe Mobility Week will take place on Thursday 10 November, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. Several entities from the SiS Space on campus will hold activities to inform and raise awareness on sustainable and safe mobility among members of the university community, and several other activities will focus on electric vehicles, raffles, and bike repair workshops.
On 18 November at 9:30 a.m. the offices of the Vice Rector for Innovation and Strategic Projects and the Vice Rector for Students and Employability organise a "Science and Entrepreneurship in Feminine" seminar to raise awareness of women standing out in innovation and entrepreneurship at the UAB campus, and provide specific resources for women interested in innovating and/or becoming entrepreneurs. The session will be held in the UAB Theatre Hall.
The crowdfunding campaign to raise money for “UAB Refugee Grants, Emergency in Ukraine” will be ending in the following weeks. Until now, a total of 3050 euros have been donated, which will go to covering the academic fees of Ukrainian refugee students. This is the last call to ask for members of the UAB community to donate abd help reach the crowdfunding goal of 20,000 euros.
The UAB Theatre hosts the show "From chaos to ecstasy", an artistic reflection by David Jou, a former physics professor at the UAB, that explains the complementarity and the connection between the different ways of knowledge (mythical, religious, scientific and artistic) to explain how our universe works.
The UAB cinema hall will host a film cycle dedicated to Billy Wilder (1906-2002), one of Hollywood's most important film directors and scriptwriters from the 1950s and 1960s.
Close to 300 UAB students participated in volunteer programmes in prisons, hospitals, schools and on campus during the 2021/22 academic year, a figure representing a 33% increase in comparison to the previous year, and similar to the number of students volunteering before the pandemic. The Fundació Autònoma Solidària (FAS) is in charge of the volunteering programmes available at the UAB, one of the most varied and large set of programmes existing in Catalonia's universities.
