Governing Body
The governing bodies of the Department of Prehistory are:
The Department Council, presided over by the director, is the highest collegial governing body of the Department. All its members are represented according to the representation formulas established by the Department’s Regulations. It meets at least three times a year, and all decisions regarding the Department’s activities must be approved in this body.
The Executive Committee is the governing and management body of the Department, responsible for addressing urgent matters and setting the agenda for the ordinary meetings of the Department Council. It is composed of 5 members from the academic staff (teaching and research), one representative of the research staff in training and postgraduate students, and one representative of the technical and administrative support staff (TASS). The academic staff in the Executive Committee is represented by the management team, the coordinator (or deputy coordinator) of the Bachelor's Degree in Archaeology, and the coordinators of the Doctoral and Master’s programmes.
The director of the Department is elected by vote of the Department Council every six years. The elected person appoints the other member of the management team: the Department Secretary. The functions of the management team consist of the day-to-day management of the department and its representation in the various university bodies, as specified in detail in the Department’s Regulations.
