Suport a l'Acreditació i Avaluació de la Recerca (SAAR)

Accreditation is a fundamental requirement for the academic progression of university teaching staff, as it is the official mechanism that validates the quality of their teaching and research track record. Through agencies such as the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) or the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU Catalunya), obtaining accreditation is essential for accessing permanent and higher-ranking positions, such as Senior Lecturer, Full Professor, or Associate Professor.

In addition to being a regulatory requirement, accreditation represents a recognition of professional excellence, as it validates the impact of published research, the teaching activities carried out, and contributions to academic management or knowledge transfer.

It also helps increase academic competitiveness, strengthens personal and institutional reputation, and opens the door to participation in research projects and international collaboration networks. Therefore, accreditation is not only a legal requirement for career advancement for the teaching staff of the Faculty of Law and the entire UAB, but also an opportunity to consolidate prestige and enhance academic and professional development.

The SAAR portal is a comprehensive resource designed to provide teaching staff and researchers with all the up-to-date information needed to complete accreditation processes, six-yearly increments, and assessment periods through the ANECA, AQU, and CNEAI agencies.

Through its “Accreditations” section, it compiles and explains the different programmes—such as ANECA Academia (for Senior Lecturers and Full Professors), ANECA PEP (for Contracted Doctors), and AQU (for Associate Professors, Full Professors, and PSH Serra Húnter Programme positions)—along with the required criteria and documentation.

It complements this structured guide with useful tools: information sources (databases, journals, books), bibliometric indicators, narrative guidance (best practices, exemplary cases), and advice on social impact.

Since its launch in 2012, the website has continuously expanded and updated its content to adapt to the most recent requirements of academic calls.
